When it comes search engines, google is still the king, and they are doing everything they can to maintain their lead,   in the name of providing more relevant search results for it’s users, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, say it another way, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.

What is old way of link building any way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, almost all of them are garbage, the name link spamming are just for these sites. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers,  the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

Examples will be great for explanation. When I got into online marketing long time ago, I started promote the keyword, Get It While Supply Lasts, of course with old way of link building, a lot of sites I used had too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. This strategy worked in the beginning, eventually the keyword could be found on first page,   the honeymoon lasted until google changed it’s mind. Now let’s look at another keyword, chain pullers, we promoted this keyword with articles and blog posts, not too many plain links have been built, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? It all boils down to content, so if you create great content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, take a look at this blog, sue havens toys , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, the result? I got nice ranking for a few realy nice keywords now. Now you can see, article marketing with great content is the way to go. At the end of day all you need to do is to create quality content, publish and share with people, promote your business with the content, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. The virtues, persistence and patience, are essential for your success, you shouldn’t expect things to improve overnight, it doesn’t matter you’re doing SEO or advertising your business, now all we have to do is to give our love for creating and sharing great content and not to worry about the search results every day. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, sign up for a twitter account and create a new application, link your blog to twitter, then make sure every new post will post a new tweet, it’s real easy and useful, it’s a big loss if you don’t use this tool.
