When it comes search engines, google is still the king, and they are doing everything they can to maintain their lead, in the name of providing more relevant search results for it’s users, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, say it another way, almost 12% of google search results are useless or of low quality. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.
So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they add your links to those linking websites without context, the only updates on those websites are the new links, almost all of them are garbage, the name link spamming are just for these sites. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.
Maybe a few examples will make it clear. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I needed to rank the keyword, load bars, of course with old way of link building, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, and the worst thing is that those sites are linking sites only and had no content, not even crap content. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? In fact the only thing matters here is content, as long as you dole out high quality content, you will attract readers as well as search engines. Now you can see, creating quality content and blog marketing is what we have to do to get great result. Remember content is king, you just need to create content, get people to enjoy and share your stuff, promote your business with the content, this strategy will prevail in short or long term.
